John W. Matune Biography

John W. Matune, CFP®

Principal

John W. Matune, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Co-Founder of Matune Basile Advisors, brings a breadth of knowledge and more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry to support his clients. 

A native of Hermitage, PA and graduate of nearby Kennedy Catholic High School, John obtained a B.S. in Business Administration at Westminster College in 2005, before earning his Masters in Business Administration from Youngstown State University.  

Following graduation, John immediately entered the financial planning world initially with First National Trust Company and later PNC Wealth Management, where his duties included financial planning for a variety of high net-worth individuals, as well as administering several complex family trusts. John completed the American Bankers Association’s National Graduate Trust School in 2011, helping him to make a greater impact in his clients’ lives and businesses. 

In 2013, with Michael Basile at his side, Matune Basile Advisors was formed to provide in-depth, individualized focus for select clients.  

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his wife Alisa and their two young children, Carmen and Luca. John is a dedicated parishioner and is instrumental with his local church, while also serving as a board member for the Catholic Foundation of Northwest Pennsylvania. In addition, John serves on the Board of the Strimbu Memorial Fund, and is a Trustee of the Buhl Farm Trust. An avid golfer, John played collegiately at Westminster and competed in the U.S. Men’s Amateur at Winged Foot Golf Club.
