With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Michael J. Basile, a Chartered Financial Analyst, serves as the Chief Investment Officer at Matune Basile Advisors, a company he co-found in 2013.  

Michael began his financial services career back in 1995 with an internship in the brokerage offices of A.G. Edwards in Lima, Ohio. Upon graduating from Ohio Northern University, Michael  went on to work for A.G. Edwards in Public Finance and also had a brief stint in the Finance offices of the Cleveland Indians. 

At Key Bank in Cleveland, OH, Michael started with the Trust Operations group and worked his way up through management.   

A big break in the investment industry came when Michael was able to go to work on the trading desk for Victory Capital Management, the Investment Division of Key Bank. Michael worked on the Securities Lending desk assisting in managing a portfolio with over $20 Billion in assets. Concurrently, Michael began his pursuit of the CFA charter and obtained the rigorous designation in 2006.   

 After 10 years in Cleveland, Michael returned ‘home’ with his wife and two young children. Michael spent the next decade in Portfolio Management roles at First National Bank (FNB) Investment Advisors and PNC Wealth Management.  

Michael currently resides in Hermitage, PA with his wife Stacey, son Jason and daughter Mia. Time away from the markets and the rigors of investment research is almost always spent volunteering at the pool as the assistant coach of the Shenango Valley YMCA and Hickory High School.  Michael also serves on the Investment Committee of The Community Foundation of Western PA and Eastern Ohio.
